- How to become aware of habits in your relationship
- Ways to work through boredom, trust issues, resentment and constant arguing
- The secret to ending broken promises and disappointment
- Ways to trust your partner again
- New moves to spark attraction
- How to rekindle love, intimacy and excitement
Q: How does the program work?
A: The Us Factor uses a multi-tiered approach designed to help you learn about yourself and your partner. You will see dramatizations of Dr. Melnick working with couples through common issues in relationships. Dr. Melnick explains the theory behind the techniques in the program. You will learn how to start making changes in the way that you interact with your partner through workbook exercises that will help you to apply what you are learning.
Q: Do both partners have to participate in this program?
A: The program is designed so that you can achieve change in your relationship whether you are using it on your own or with your partner. If your partner is not yet willing to watch and use this program with you, that’s common. You can begin to learn about the program techniques and you can make some changes to your own ways of interacting with your partner. Once you commit to these changes, your partner will change in response to you.
Q: What's the difference between this program and couples counseling?
A: The Us Factor was created to teach couples techniques to build awareness of each other, strengthen their communication with each other, and to find new ways of connecting to each other. This program can be done at a time that works for you and at your own pace in the privacy of your own home.
Q: Will this program help us to address abuse or substance use?
A: The Us Factor is an educational program. It is not psychotherapy or counseling, and is not designed to replace it. If there is physical abuse, sexual abuse, alcoholism, or substance abuse in your relationship, or if there are serious psychological problems, then it is important to contact local resources such as your physician, therapist, clergy or legal authorities.
